Releasing

You're getting a quicky from me this month. But, sometimes, that's just the thing. It allows us to stay connected and hopefully we'll both feel like our needs are being met.

Releasing what no longer serves us is ongoing work. I've been thinking a lot about self-limiting beliefs as I continue to note them in myself and witness the tragic effects of this human phenomenon on those around me. I live in a western culture that taught me to avoid pain and discomfort at all costs. I've suffered because of that programming, and I've spent my adult life extricating the resulting feelings of fear, shame, and inadequacy. Transformation is hard but refusing to change can be tragic and disastrous. Listen to the August podcast to hear more about this topic. Take a moment to consider what you can release to grow stronger. Share your thoughts here or with another person. Let's support each other as we grow stronger and more confident as joyful sexual beings.

Please reach out and check in; let me know if this quickie was satisfying for you or just frustrating. I would love to hear if this brought up any thoughts, feelings, or memories for you. How have you struggled to or been successful in releasing the past so that you can live fully in the present?

I’ll confess that as much as I talk about the importance of being kind to ourselves and taking it easy when we need to, this is still a challenge for me. So, it’s really hard for me to put out a mini episode like this. Ugh. I’m a work in progress.

And of course, please rate/review and follow on your favorite podcast platform.

Here is a link to some information about EMDR which is an effective way to release deep-seated stuff.
